Storming the Sound is a one-day conference for environmental educators in the region of the
Northern Straits (northern Puget Sound in Washington State). In 2008 it was held in La Conner WA on January 18. For more

The Bridge is a collection of teacher resources supported by the National Sea Grant Office, the National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP), and the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA).

- People For Puget Sound is a non-profit citizens' group working to
protect and restore the health of Puget Sound and the Northwest Straits through education and action.
- Port Townsend Marine Science Center is another facility in our area with
similar educational programs and resources including information
about eelgrass.
- The Puget Sound Partnership is a state
agency created to restore and protect the biological health and diversity of Puget Sound.
- The Falcon Research Group has information about falcons and
other local raptors and volunteer opportunities.
- RE Sources is a non-profit environmental education organization
in Bellingham offering a variety of community education programs that focus on fresh and marine water quality, waste reduction
and recycling, and air quality.
- Tennant Lake Interpretive Center in Whatcom County promotes the
awareness, appreciation and conservation of freshwater wetlands through educational programs, exhibits and on-site exploration.
- North Cascades National Park is in the eastern watershed of the Skagit River. They have a
great learning center and loads of good educational programs to help you learn about mountain habitats.
Consider joining these great environmental education organizations:
- Northwest Straits - The Northwest Straits Commission is a grassroots
effort to protect marine resources in northwest Washington, from the Strait of Juan de Fuca and northern Puget Sound to the Canadian
border. Local tribal, state and community representatives work together with opportunities for public involvement and education.
