Pro Esteros is a bi-national grass roots organization, devoted to the protection and conservation of the wetlands of the Baja California peninsula. Pro Esteros works towards wetland conservation by involving the communities and the scientific expertise of their members in order to designate ecological preserves.

Pro Esteros membership includes scientists, educators, environmentalists and managers. Organizational activities involve communities in educational and research projects that help develop a database of information on local estuaries. This information can be used to help manage development so that important biological resources are preserved. Pro Esteros works to foster a sense of conservation for wetlands and estuaries.
