Somebody bet on the Bay!

Padilla Bay Foundation has received seed money and a 2-year matching pledge challenge to accumulate $25,000 for the establishment of an Endowment Fund. Effective April 1st of 2007 the challenge is to raise $11,500 by April 1st 2009 in order to have that amount matched equally by a local donor family. The Endowment Fund will be managed by the Seattle Foundation once it is established. Contributions to this fund will be utilized 100% for this purpose. This will establish a lasting legacy for the Foundation and further assure it's important work supporting the Reserve.

Place your bets today.

In the past, Foundation Members have stepped-up to the challenge and made contributions both small to large.  We heartily thank each and every donor.  In this grass roots manner, we have raised nearly $170,000.  SINCERE THANKS!

Some donors chose acknowledgment in the form of Brass Critters (left and below).  Cast by hand at our local Anacortes Brass Foundry, these indigenous critters are heavy brass, and will endure beautifully over time.  Displayed near the entrance pictured above, they are embossed with the names of special donors.

To learn how to get your name on a Brass Critter please Contact the Foundation.

And, again – thanks to those who have donated.  As our goal is still ahead of us, we ask all who can to donate at whatever level is possible.  Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve will be here for future generations.  An already incredibly special place - made more so by our ‘Benefactors For The Bay’.
